Stolen ambulance found nearly 400 miles from home

LA JUNTA, Colo. — An ambulance reported stolen from the Western Slope was found about 400 miles from its home in Eastern Colorado.

The ambulance belonged to a fire station in Collbran was found undamaged in La Junta.

Plateau Valley Fire Department Chief Mike Lockwood told the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel the ambulance was found at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center.

Authorities do not yet know who took the ambulance or why.
