DENVER -- A long holiday weekend just got a little bit longer for students at Denver West High School.

A letter sent home to parents Friday confirms that three bed bugs were found.  The school will close through Tuesday, so a Denver Public Schools Pest Control Team can treat the school. Classes are expected to resume Wednesday.

One student says the bugs were found in her chemistry class.  She is thankful the school is addressing the problem: "It was good that they finally said they were gonna fix the bed-bug issue."

School is closed Monday for Columbus Day.
