CU Boulder police investigate possible armed kidnapping

BOULDER, Colo. — Police at the University of Colorado Boulder are asking for students’ help in finding a suspect who may have kidnapped a man at gunpoint on campus Monday night.

At about 9:30 p.m., a CU student called officers to report a possible kidnapping near the Benson Earth Sciences Building.

The witness said at around 9:15 p.m., he saw a white man in a dark hooded-sweatshirt get out of a car and point what appeared to be a handgun at a black male. The victim was wearing jeans, a blue shirt and possibly a backpack.

The suspect and victim got in the back seat of the car, which took off going eastbound on Colorado Avenue past Folsom Street, according to the witness.

CU police continue to investigate this incident. Authorities and sent an email alert to students, faculty and staff shortly after 11 p.m., asking for their assistance in finding the suspect.
