DENVER — Three people were hurt in an early morning shooting at a southeast Denver nightclub, the Denver Police Department said Saturday.

One victim was in critical condition after the 4 a.m. incident in the parking lot of Club California, 10005 E. Hampden Ave., police said. Two others suffered superficial injuries.

Numerous shots were fired, police said. One witness told the Denver Post she heard at least 27 shots. She also speculated that the shooting was gang-related, although police have not said as much.

Police did not release any information regarding the victims or any suspects.

Also on Saturday, a separate shooting at a nightclub in LoDo hospitalized two people.
