DENVER -- Many people who want to catch a glimpse of Peyton Manning at Sports Authority Field Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, will have no choice but to purchase tickets from third-party brokers.

Unfortunately, doing so can often lead to rip-offs. Here are a few tips to avoiding ticket scams this Sunday:

  •   Do not wire funds for payment of tickets.
  •   Do not allow people to mail you tickets, you should pick them up in person.
  •   If you can, verify the legitimacy of the tickets before the game.

Also, keep in mind that it is illegal to sell tickets for prices above face value, and undercover police are on patrol during games looking for scalpers doing just that.

Kickoff is at 2:25 p.m. Sunday on FOX31.
