DENVER -- The Colorado flood may have washed away homes and possessions but for one Broncos fan the flood never came close to taking her football fan spirit.

Linda Howard, who lost her home in the Big Thompson Canyon, attended Monday's Broncos game against the Oakland Raiders, the first regular season game she's ever seen inside Sports Authority field.

"It's a great distraction not think about it...just to have some time to watch the broncos," said Howard from her seats inside the Broncos' end zone. The ticket was donated by a family friend who had hoped the night downtown would let the Howard family temporarily forget about their problems.

"She's my second mom, she's a huge Broncos fan, sometimes when bad things happen, you just have to take a break from it." said Broncos season ticket holder Heather Dean.

The Howard family is planning on eventually rebuilding their home along the Big Thompson River but it's not clear how long it will take for that process to begin.
