Small wildfire burning in Southern Colorado

DENVER — A small wildfire started burning in southern Colorado Monday near the town of Colorado City.

According to the Huerfano County Fire Department, the South Greenhorn Fire is burning in rough terrain on Greenhorn Mountain.

The fire is north of Highway 69.

Spokeswoman Lori Cordova tweeted the fire is less than an acre in size.

Firefighters from the Bureau of Land Management and Canon City have arrived to help fight the fire.

No structures are threatened by the fire. It’s not known what started the fire.
