AURORA — Police said the 22-year-old who was struck by a car in Aurora early Saturday morning has died from his injuries.

Steven Williams passed away at about 10:15 a.m. Monday. He was on life support after being hit by a Jeep that was heading westbound on 6th Avenue at approximately 4:18 a.m.

Williams apparently crossed the road and walked in front of the vehicle near the 11200 block of E 6th Avenue, according to officers.

Two witnesses who stopped at the scene told police that Williams walked in front of the car. The area was dark, and there were no crosswalks nearby, police said.

The driver of the jeep was not injured.

Investigators said all indications point to Williams as being at fault in the accident. The driver of the Jeep was not suspected of speeding or intoxication. However, police said Williams may have been intoxicated.

No charges have been filed at this time.
