BROOMFIELD, Colo. — Police have made an arrest after a man’s body was found in the middle of a suburban Broomfield street Saturday morning.

At 6:23 a.m., Broomfield Police responded to a welfare check in the 2500 block of West 134th Circle. When they arrived, they found the body of a 34 year-old Westminster man in the street.

Further investigation revealed that there was an altercation at the suspect’s residence, which police say allegedly resulted in the victim’s death.

At about 2:30 p.m., police arrested Matthew P. Burnett, 32, in connection with the crime. He has been charged with 1st degree murder and tampering with physical evidence.

Burnett is being held without bond. His first court appearance is Monday.

The name of the victim was not released.
