BLACK HAWK, Colo. — A bachelor party ended in tragedy after a 29-year-old fell to his death in Black Hawk Saturday morning.

Police said Dirk A. Anderson from Thornton fell out of an 11th story window at the Lady Luck Hotel just before 5 a.m. Anderson reportedly struck the roof of the hotel’s 7th floor parking garage and died from his injuries.

Officers said Anderson was celebrating with several friends inside the hotel room when the incident happened. Black Hawk Police Chief Stephen Cole said he was sitting on the window sill and fell backwards through the window screen.

Investigators are still looking into the circumstances surrounding the fall, but police say it appears to be accidental. While there was alcohol at the bachelor party, investigators told CNN they don’t yet know if Anderson had been drinking.
