AURORA, Colo. -- Two rifles, a pistol and a ballistic vest were stolen from a pair of unmarked Adams County Sheriff's Office vehicles Wednesday night, ACSO reported.

The cars were parked in southeast Aurora when someone trespassed into them sometime between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday, ACSO said. The department did not say how entry was made into the cars, or whether they were locked.

The stolen items include a Colt M4 Commando .223-caliber rifle, a Colt AR-15 .223-caliber rifle, a Glock 22C .40-caliber handgun and a bullet-resistant vest.

The Aurora Police Department was investigating.
