Colo. Springs police search for suspect in double homicide

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Police in Colorado Springs are searching for the suspect of a double homicide that occurred over the weekend.

Officers believe 22-year-old Gary Glen Vigil is suspected of shooting two people in the 2800 block of East Platte Avenue at about 10:45 p.m. Saturday.

When police arrived at the scene, they found a man and a woman had died from gunshot wounds.

The El Paso County Coroner’s Office identified the victims as 22-year-old Daniel Castaneda and 24-year-old Camille Root.

Detectives continue to search for Vigil, who they believe is armed and dangerous.

Vigil is described as a Hispanic male who is 5-foot-6, weighs 180 pounds, and has short black hair and brown eyes. He has multiple tattoos on his chest, neck and arms, according to police.

Vigil has an arrest warrant out for 1st Degree Murder.
