16-year-old missing following heavy rain in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Police and firefighters were searching for a 16-year-old girl reported missing after heavy rain hit the city Monday afternoon.

Reports say Rose Hammes got caught in the storm when she went out for a walk at about 2:45 p.m. KRDO reports she went under a bridge to get shelter from the rain.

Searchers were looking for her south of Radiant Church which is near Maizeland and Academy.

She’s described as 5’4″, 120 lbs. with light brown hair. Rose is wearing a gray t-shirt, khaki capri pants and black Converse “high-top” tennis shoes.
