LONE TREE, Colo. — A fireworks display originally scheduled for the 4th of July in Lone Tree has been rescheduled for Sept. 1.

This event at Sweetwater Park will be much smaller in scale compared to the full Independence Day celebration on July 4, but does include a performance by the band New Sensation beginning at 6:30 p.m., the city said in a news release.

Spectators can hike to a scenic overlook atop the Bluffs Regional Park or fireworks can also be seen from the rooftop of the Lincoln light rail station, the rooftop at La Sandia and the Sears Outlet parking lot.

Lone Tree was one of several communities that postponed or cancelled their Independence Day fireworks because of high fire danger in Colorado on July 4.
