Colorado Springs Craigslist transaction turns into armed robbery

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Police are urging citizens to conduct all person-to-person transactions during the light of day after a Craigslist deal took a turn for the worst in a Colorado Springs parking lot on Sunday night.

According to the Colorado Springs Gazette, a potential Craigslist buyer turned into an armed robber shortly after arranged meeting between two parties began.

Colorado Springs Police told the newspaper they received a call reporting a robbery in an east Colorado Springs parking lot around 11:50 p.m. The victim reportedly told police the potential buyer pulled a gun, took the Craigslist item in question and then forced the victim to leave the area at gunpoint.

Police did not provide any information about the item that was stolen, and the suspect in the case was yet to be located as of Monday afternoon.
