Denver police locate missing senior citizen

DENVER – Police were asking for the public’s assistance in locating an at-risk adult missing since Thursday.

On Friday police found Sharp in Lawson Park at 24th and Welton streets in Denver.

Joe Sharp, 78, had been last seen in the area of 4600 East Asbury Ave. at about 7 p.m. Thursday.

According to authorities, Sharp has black skin, brown eyes and stands 6 foot 7 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds.

When last seen, Sharp was wearing blue jeans, a brown sweater and may have been wearing a baseball cap.

Sharp suffers from schizophrenia and other mental health related illness, police said.
