COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Man accused of creating child pornography with 5-year-old girl in a Colorado Springs mobile home was located and arrested in Florida.

On Tuesday night Nick L. Chandler, 37, was found in the Tampa, Florida area

Investigators from the Florida Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) and Homeland Security took Chandler into custody at about 10 p.m. Tuesday.

On June 11, the Colorado Springs Police ICAC unit executed a search warrant at 5150 Airport Rd, Lot C111 related to the distribution of child pornography. During their search, investigators removed several computers and other digital media items.

In July a forensic examination of the items found at the residence of Chandler uncovered nearly 100 sexually explicit images of a female child.

Investigators claim the images were likely created and uploaded in June 2012. Police say investigators recognized identifiable items in the background of the images which made them suspect they were taken at Chandler’s residence.

On July 30 a second search warrant was issued for the mobile home on Airport Rd. At this point police were able to confirm this was the location of the assault and that Chandler was the suspect. An arrest warrant was issued for Chandler on the charge of Sexual Exploitation of Children.

Police officials were able to locate the 5-year-old victim, who they report was safe.

Chandler is being held at the Pinellas County Jail, where he is awaiting extradition to Colorado.
