LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. — A son lost his father in a motorcycle crash Tuesday while they rode their Harley-Davidsons up a curving road near Horsetooth Reservoir west of Fort Collins.

That’s according to a report in the Fort Collins Coloradoan.

The Colorado State Patrol says the father lost control of his motorcycle on a hairpin turn.

There were two parallel skid marks on Larimer County Road 38E below Horsetooth Reservoir.

The motorcycles did not collide. But 63-year-old Trifone Lessa of La Mesa, Calif. was killed when he was thrown from the motorcycle. He wore eye protection but no helmet.

Investigators do not suspect drug or alcohol use were contributing factors in the crash.
