Wrong-way driver slams into car on I-225, injures 4

AURORA, Colo. — Four people were hospitalized after a driver crashed into their vehicle going the wrong way on Interstate 225 Sunday morning.

According to police, the vehicle was headed southbound in the northbound lanes of I-225 just before 3 a.m., when the driver hit the other car head-on. The accident happened just north of the Parker Road exit.

Four people were taken to a local hospital, where two victims were in critical condition.

Police said alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

The northbound lanes of I-225 were shut down at Yosemite Street until 7:30 a.m.
