Julien, who was in Colorado for the summer visiting his family, was hit near the intersection of South Kipling Parkway and West Asbury Avenue, south of West Jewell Avenue, just before 10 p.m.

Witnesses told troopers they saw two cars racing in the area at the time of the crash. Both vehicles fled the scene after the incident.

Julien was taken to St. Anthony's Central Hospital, and was pronounced dead early Sunday morning.

The Chrysler PT Cruiser involved in the accident was located Sunday, and the vehicle was identified after a tip was called in by a family member of the driver.

Authorities thanked local media for responding quickly in spreading the call for assistance. This prompted several tips throughout the day, leading to the identification of the victim and the driver of the PT Cruiser.

Police are still investigating the crash. No charges have been filed yet.
