DENVER — The Denver Post’s annual Underground Music Showcase took over Broadway this weekend, once again bringing together dozens of bands in what is becoming Denver’s signature music event.

From pop breezy pop music in an art gallery to chugging metal inside the 3 Kings Tavern, Saturday proved to be as diverse as anyone could have hoped. National bands (Cults, Hockey) abounded on the main stage in the parking lot of Goodwill, but much of the fun came from exploring some of the newer venues to the series, including Gary Lee’s Motor Club and a  brand-new Illegal Pete’s location with an epic patio.
