DENVER - The Colorado Department of Transportation closed several roads for the weekend, while crews demolished and replaced the Pecos Street bridge over Interstate 70.

The highway was closed in both directions Friday night through 5 a.m. Monday morning.

CDOT tweeted that the new bridge was finally installed Sunday afternoon:

The work shut down the freeway between I-25 and Federal Boulevard, but that wasn't the only major road closure over the weekend that was lifted by Monday morning.

Sante Fe Drive was closed in both directions under I-25 due to bridge removal,  paving operations caused double lane closures on Havana Street between Alameda and Exposition, and Striping operations closed all lanes at the intersection of Brighton Boulevard and York Street.

All of those closures were lifted either late Sunday or early Monday morning.
