DENVER -- Two cousins sat at a bar in downtown Denver and made a promise to each other over a drink.

One was going to take the other to a Denver Broncos game during the 2012 season and the other would return the favor for a Colorado Avalanche game.

However, Johnathan Blunk was killed while trying to save others during the shooting at the Century 16 theaters in Aurora on July 20, 2012.

But as his cousin Jessica Watts tells the story, even though she lost her cousin soon after the promise was made, each managed to keep their promise anyway.

Watch the video clip above to find out how the members of the Broncos and Avalanche organizations helped Jessica keep that promise.
