Wanted suspect arrested after ramming Aurora police cruiser, injuring officer

AURORA, Colo. — Aurora Police were in pursuit of a wanted suspect Wednesday when that individual rammed a police cruiser at a high rate of speed, injuring an officer in the process.

Aurora Police spokesman Cassidee Carlson confirmed that several officers and the East Metro Auto Theft Team were going in to make an arrest on South Salida Way near Quincy Avenue Wednesday morning when the suspect abruptly reversed, slamming into a police cruiser.

The wanted individual, along with one female passenger, were taken into custody shortly after the incident. The injured officer was transported to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries.

The driver had several active warrants at the time of the incident, Carlson said.
