DENVER – Inadvertent beer giveaway closes Highway 58 on 4th of July.

A beer truck overturned Thursday in Wheat Ridge sending thousands of cans of Coors spilling onto the highway.

Wheat Ridge police tweeted photos of the mishap which closed eastbound lanes of Highway 58 until about 11 p.m.

The truck driver was not injured when the semi rolled on its side according to police officials.

During cleanup efforts the truck collapsed which further delayed the road clearing.
