Wildfire in Lookout Mountain area under control

DENVER — Jefferson County officials issued Thursday afternoon a pre-evacuation order due to a fire on Lookout Mountain.

The Beaver Brook Fire was under control as of 5:32 p.m. Four fire departments worked together to quickly contain it, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The fire was described as “small” but was near homes in the Cody Park area, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.

About 282 total phones were called, police said.
