DENVER — The west metro Denver area has seen a rash of burglaries of sheds and out-buildings recently where suspects were stealing lawn equipment.

Police in Denver arrested two suspects, a brother and sister, who have been connected to more than 20 theft cases in Denver and Wheat Ridge. Investigators also recovered thousands of dollars worth of stolen lawn equipment.

The suspects, 45-year-old Charles Darrow, and 44-year-old Valerie Darrow were arrested June 20 and charged with 2nd Degree Burglary.

A statement from Denver Police says, “District 4 detectives located the vehicle and the two suspects. The vehicle was followed to the area of 49th Ave. and Knox Ct. Detectives immediately recognized the two suspects who were preparing to commit another residential burglary. They immediately apprehended the suspects before they could victimize anyone else.”

Police say the thefts happened during the past several weeks.
