LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Police have positively identified a body found along Fall River Road in Clear Creek County as a 49-year-old missing Lakewood man.

Lakewood police received a missing persons report about David Noren on May 20.

Friday a body was found near Fall River Road northwest of Idaho Springs, said a Clear Creek Sheriff’s Office spokesman.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s office performed an autopsy and was able to identify the body as Noren. Detectives believe Noren was murdered and have already identified a suspect — his former roommate Ryan Hicks.

Hicks is in Arizona where he is in police custody on unrelated charges.

According to his arrest warrant, Hicks now faces charges of first degree murder, felony murder, as well as robbery and criminal possession of a financial credit device.

Detectives had previously interviewed Hicks as a person of interest in Noren’s disappearance.

It is unclear when Hicks will be extradited to Colorado to face possible charges related to the Noren homicide.
