Gold Medalist Missy Franklin returns home to Denver after the London Olympics on Aug. 13, 2012.

DENVER — The world knows Missy Franklin as the Olympic swimming star. She also recently celebrated her 18th birthday by opening the Warrior Games in Colorado Springs with Prince Harry.

Now she can add movie star to her resume.

Franklin will be featured in “FIRST,” a film about 12 first-time Olympic athletes who competed at the 2012 London Games. The film will be in 11 Denver-area theaters including the Regal Denver Pavilions 15, Regal Greenwood Plaza 12 and AMC Highlands Ranch 24 on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

The film will feature a special interview with Franklin, gymnast John Orozco, boxer Queen Underwood and Australian BMX rider Caroline Buchanan, all of whom will discuss how the Olympic Games have changed their lives forever.
