The only mountain zoo in the United States is in Colorado Springs.  Cheyenne Mountain Zoo sits at an elevation of 6,714 feet on the side of Cheyenne Mountain in southwest Colorado Springs.  The zoo is known for its giraffe herd that you can feed.  The newest addition to the zoo is the Encounter Africa exhibit that is home to elephants, lions, meerkats, and rhinos.


Cheyenne  Mountain Zoo is open year-round.  Summer hours through Labor Day are 9am-6pm daily.  Admission is $17.25 for adults, $15.25 for 65 and older, and $12.25 for kids 3-11 years old.  Children 2 and under are free.  There is a $3 discount with military ID.
