What extreme prom costs may be teaching your teen

Prom: It's the rite of passage for teenagers; a night to dance and party with friends.

But many teens are going to the extreme, spending close $2,000 or even more for  the big night. With that in mind, is prom turning into something that's only about the flash, and not as much about the memories?

Doctor Larry Curry, child and family therapist and Metro State professor, stopped by the “Everyday” show to offer some advice Monday.
