BRIGHTON, Colo. — The Adams  County Sheriff’s Office admitted a big mistake Thursday night. A fugitive was accidentally released from jail when he was supposed to be held for violating his parole.

Juan Flores had charges dropped against him last week, but he was supposed to be held in jail on a parole violation.

The deputy who released him from the jail wasn’t aware of that and let Flores go free.

The sheriff’s office says it made a mistake and investigators are working around the clock to try to re-capture Juan Flores.
