13 hospitalized after hazmat incident at Colorado College
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A hazmat incident at Colorado College led emergency personnel to evacuate one of the campus’ buildings and left 13 hospitalized Wednesday, according to multiple reports.
According to KXRM, a Colorado Springs Fire spokesperson said some sort of smoldering led to visible smoke leaking out of the school’s science building shortly after 3 p.m. The spokesperson continued to say that nine of the 13 hospitalized were reporting breathing issues.
The fire department had yet to determine the cause of the hazmat incident as of late Wednesday afternoon.
Traffic in the areas around North Nevada and San Rafael was affected by the emergency crews on the scene several hours after the incident, according to KXRM.AlertMe
