Reports: Possible Tornadoes cause damage near Akron in Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Colo. — A possible tornado damaged at least three structures south of Akron in Washington County Monday night according to Washington County Emergency Management.

One of the three structures was a mobile home. Officials say it was destroyed. The report say one person was displaced but not injured.

The types of structures and extent of damage to the other two buildings was not confirmed as of 9 p.m.

Another building was heavily damaged north of Akron. It was described as “non-residential.”

“Half of the town of Akron is without power due to six power poles down between Brush and Last Chance,” information on the Colorado Office of Emergency Management’s website said.
