DENVER -- The state of Colorado launched the most ambitious marketing and branding effort ever undertaken by a state on Tuesday.

It's called "Making Colorado"and it's designed to take advantage of the energy, expertise and creativity of multiple agencies and Coloradans across the state to collaborate to build a brand for Colorado.

Governor John Hickenlooper will reveal the results of this marketing effort at the Colorado Innovation Network Summit in August.

"Colorado has a heart and soul like no other state," Hickenlooper said. "We launched the Making Colorado initiative to create and market a stronger Colorado brand. Together, we will define what Colorado stands for and how to convey that to the world to help ensure our communities, culture and environment are strong and vibrant for decades to come."

All Coloradans are invited to offer their thoughts, opinions and creative ideas about how to showcase Colorado to the rest of the world. Do that by visiting the Making Colorado website.
