WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. — A male in his mid-40s is clinging to life in a hospital Tuesday after being stabbed at a Wheat Ridge motel Monday night.

Wheat Ridge Police spokesperson John Romero said officers received calls about a stabbing at a Motel 6 located at 9920 West 49th Avenue around 9:45 p.m. When they arrived, they found the man suffering from life-threatening stab wounds.

The victim, who is yet to be identified, was transported to a nearby hospital. Investigators had still not been able to speak with the victim as of Tuesday afternoon due to the severity of his injuries.

Hoping it could lead to a break in the investigation, police are searching for the suspect’s vehicle, a silver 1994 Jeep Cherokee with license plate 986-TBJ. Anyone with information on the stabbing or the missing vehicle are being asked to call the Wheat Ridge Police Department at 303-237-2220.
