NEWCASTLE, Calif. — A California man woke up to find the man-made pond on his property had suddenly disappeared on Sunday.

According to KCRA news, a giant sinkhole swallowed up Mark Korb’s pond, draining the water and leaving behind a muddy mess.

Korb said it took him seven days to drain the pond with a pump a few years ago.

He said the sinkhole emptied his pond a lot quicker than that.

“I would guess probably four to five hours for this whole area to drain,” Korb said, according to KCRA.
