DENVER -- After 19 burglaries this year in Washington Park, residents came to a meeting with police Tuesday night ready to vent their anger and frustration.

“We’re angry,” said neighbor Sherry Ross. “We don’t feel safe.”

Instead, residents learned police had made two arrests in the case. Just in the last ten days six different homes have been hit.

Police credit neighbors who reported suspicious activity after two suspects went door to door trying to find vacant homes.

They also credit one man whose wife who was able to help.

“I rushed home one day to find the home a mess,” said neighbor John Fafarek. “Then this weekend police asked us to come down and identify some jewelry which my wife was able to do. They said they used it to get an arrest warrant.”

Police say they believe more people may be involved in the burglary ring and so they continue to ask residents to be vigilant.
