Standoff at home near National Jewish Hospital ends

DENVER — Denver Police brought a peaceful end to a situation where a wanted man had barricaded himself inside a house near National Jewish Hospital Thursday afternoon.

According to a tweet from police, officers were trying to do a pickup of a man wanted on a felony warrant near E. 13th Ave. and Garfield St.

Police ended up arresting a total of four people, two men and two women.

The suspect surrendered after about three hours. The standoff ended peacefully and there were no injuries.

Street closures include Colfax Avenue to 13th and Garfield to Madison Street.

Police are asking the public to avoid the area.
