Fort Carson soldier suspected of rape found dead in his quarters

Fort Carson, Colo.

FORT CARSON, Colo. — A Fort Carson soldier who was a suspect in a rape case has was found dead in his quarters on the Army base near Colorado Springs.

The soldier, along with a second soldier, was under investigation for a sexual assault that happened last weekend according to Fort Carson officials. Here is their statement:

“Two Fort Carson Soldiers are being investigated for possible rape believed to have been committed over the weekend. One of the suspects was found dead in his on-post quarters and the cause of death as well as the suspected rape are still under investigation by law enforcement officials.”

No charges have been filed in the case yet.
