KUMMING, China — To say Chinese politician Yan Linkun was a little disappointed to find out he and his family had missed their second flight of the day might be an understatement.

CCTV cameras at Changshui Airport in the southwestern city of Kumming caught Linkun’s rage on camera, as he stomped a desk, dismantled computers, used a sign as a battering ram and attempted to break down the door between him and his departing flight.

According to several reports, Linkun and his family were eating meals instead of boarding both flights.

Shortly after the video was first published on YouTube, viewers identified the angry would-be passenger as Linkun, the vice chairman of Yunnan Minin Company and a political adviser with the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.

The political group said it is considering disciplinary action, and Linkun has since apologized to the airport’s deputy general manager.
