Denver police arrest suspect in Monday’s deadly assault

DENVER – Police have arrested the suspect connected to the assault that left one man dead near Santa Fe Drive on Monday.

Martin Trusty, 48, was arrested early Saturday morning and is being held for investigation of first degree murder. Police said Trusty assaulted 44-year-old Darwin Brown and then fled the scene on foot.

Officers were asking for the public’s help in locating Trusty after Brown was assaulted at W. 12th Ave. and Santa Fe Dr. at about 5:50 p.m. Monday.

Brown was taken to Denver Health Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
