ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Police say a teenage boy shot and killed two adults and three children inside an Albuquerque home Saturday night.

According to New Mexico’s KRQE News 13, police found an adult male, an adult woman and three children around elementary age dead at the home with several gunshot wounds.

Officials said they found several guns inside the home that appeared to be used during the crime, including a “military-style” assault rifle.

The teen is being charged with two counts of murder and three counts of child abuse resulting in death, according to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department.

The boy was arrested after being questioned at the sheriff’s office and is likely to be arraigned on Tuesday, according to sheriff’s department spokesman Deputy Aaron Williamson.

Investigators are trying to figure out what the shooter’s motive and connection to the victims are.

Neither the victims’ nor the suspect’s identities had been released.
