DENVER -- An issue that has been debated for decades was brought back to center stage Sunday as the landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade will mark its 40th anniversary on Tuesday.

Denver Archbishop Samuel Aquila used his sermon at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception to touch on the subject of legalizing abortion. The packed cathedral gave Aquila a round of applause when he finished his 25-minute pro-life sermon.

People were also spotted holding 'Stop Abortion' signs outside of the cathedral.

About 200 pro-life supporters gathered outside of a northeast Denver women's center and marched to a nearby planned parenthood to drop off flowers at the gate.
