13-year-old dies in ski accident at Copper Mountain

COPPER MOUNTAIN, Colo. — A 13-year-old boy died after he crashed into a tree on a ski run at Copper Mountain Friday.

The  accident happened just before 1 p.m. on the beginner trail Vein Glory according to Copper Mountain spokesperson Austyn Williams.

Ski Patrol members provided emergency first aid and then took the teen, Tristan Bartlett of Houston, to St. Anthony Copper Mountain Clinic.

“The individual involved was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. An investigation of the incident is underway at Copper Mountain,” Williams says.
