AURORA, Colo. — After discovering a body near an Aurora dumpster Wednesday morning, police have begun an investigation into what they are calling a “suspicious death.”

Aurora Police Department spokesperson Cassidee Carlson said police received a report about the body at approximately 9 a.m., and soon after confirmed that there was indeed a deceased male near a dumpster in the 12100 block of East Iliff Avenue.

“At this point, this is being investigated as a suspicious death,” Carlson said. “The scene is being treated as a crime scene, and detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding this death.”

As of 1 p.m., Carlson said that investigators found no evident signs of trauma or injury, and said investigators will now await the results of an autopsy to determine the man’s cause of death.
