Man severely injured in truck vs. train crash

EATON, Colo. — One man was severely injured when his truck crashed into a Union Pacific freight rain in northeastern Colorado Wednesday.

The crash happened around 2 p.m. near U.S. Hwy. 85 and Weld County Road 76 in the city of Eaton.

The freight train carrying a load of UPS packages was traveling southbound at 60 miles per hour when it hit the truck.

The Colorado State Patrol says the 53-year-old man was taken to Northern Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.

The condition of the man and circumstances surrounding the crash have not been released.
