Denver police look for bank robber, Knight Elementary put on lockdown

DENVER – The Stephen Knight Center for Early Education was put on lockdown Friday afternoon while Denver police looked for at least two bank robbers.

Police said the men robbed a Chase bank at South Colorado Boulevard and East Exposition Avenue wearing masks and hoodies.

The men fled in a van and abandoned it a few blocks away in the area of South Garfield Street and Exposition.

Police set up a perimeter and are looking for the men with the help of a police helicopter.

The suspects are believed to be black men in their 20s.

Knight Elementary was put on lockdown until 5 p.m. as a precaution as police looking for the robbers.
