NORTHGLENN, Colo. -- Police were looking for a woman who tried to leave a baby on someone's front porch Wednesday.

A woman called police at about 9:30 a.m. to say she heard a noise at her front door and when she looked, she saw a woman she didn't know walking away from her house. This was in the 9800 block of Bruce Lane.

She also found an infant, about 4-months-old, in a car seat carrier on her front porch.

The caller told police the baby had what looked like an oxygen tube running from its nose to a portable oxygen bottle.

According to police, the woman yelled at the female who then walked back to the door and took the baby.

The woman who reported the incident says the female said she thought she was at her nanny's house and that the baby had a medical problem regarding caloric intake.

The caller told police the woman quickly returned to her vehicle and drove away with the baby. She says she tried to stop the woman, but she ignored her.

Police want to find the woman who left the baby to check on the welfare of both of them.

Here is her description:

-- 5'4" tall
-- 170 lbs.
-- Brown hair
-- Reddening on chin
-- Grey sweater

The woman's car is a 1990s gold-colored 4-door sedan. The baby's car seat carrier is blue and grey.
