COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –The man who was shot by police after an overnight car chase in Colorado Springs has died.

According to the Gazette, 23-year old Robert Kresky was pronounced dead Saturday.

 KXRM reported the lengthy car chase ended early Tuesday morning when the suspect’s vehicle was rammed and disabled by a police cruiser. The suspect then ran and the pursuit continued on foot.

The chase came to an end on East Bijou Street and Iowa Avenue, when an officer shot the suspect.

Police had to shut down Bijou Street, from Bonfoy to Iowa, to investigate the scene.

The identity of the officer involved has not been released, but the paper reported the officer has been placed on administrative leave until the investigation is complete.
